Hey iMobiTraxxers,

Continuing on with our series of traffic source campaign setups, I wanted to shoot-out our next Adult Marketing Tutorial featuring…Traffic Junky!

If you’re not familiar with Traffic Junky, they are basically a Self-Serve Marketplace to buy ads on some of the most popular adult web and mobile web properties in the world.

In other words, they kickass for adult web+ mobile traffic.

Here’s an easy to follow tutorial on how to setup campaigns on Traffic Junky:

What You Need:

Hosting

iMobiTrax Tracking

Revived Media Affiliate Account

Offer

Creatives

Descriptions + Restrictions For Targeting

Step 1. Offer Recon + Assets Gather

Revived Media – In your affiliate panel, you will want to test Offer ID: 1696 – iGirls Greece

Conversion flow: The user arrives at the landing page and selects the content they want to download. As long as they’re in an accepted WAP gateway their MSISDN header is detected and they don’t have to manually enter their phone number. They’re then sent an SMS message with a link they must click for the conversion pixel to fire.

Accepted carriers: Wind

Target devices: iPhones & Androids.

Payout: $5.60 CPA

Accepted traffic: Adult, Media Buys, Search, Push Notifications, Mobile Applications, and Mobile Web.

Restrictions: No incent, content locking, or wifi traffic.

Creatives: Tons of pre-approved banners + text ads to start testing.

Tip: I see a few of the 300×250, 300×50 and 320×50 Mobile Banner Placement Size that I like so much and I know Traffic Junky has mobile inventory on that ad unit. Taadaa!

Step 2. iMobiTrax Campaign Setup

Few tips here. One, Traffic Junky does have custom IP Telco Targeting. Their are options to narrow down certain carriers by IP Addresses. Currently they allow it for some of the more knowledgeable people, so you will have to inquire about it. Second, Traffic Junky doesn’t have any traffic/click tokens/parameters that I’m aware of.

We add Traffic Junky as a traffic source, no custom tokens:

Don’t worry. When we setup the campaign, we can quickly put int the “ad1″ tokens and values so we can track each creative/banner/text ad’s performance:

Great, I’m now setting up my campaign in iMobiTrax. I’ve set my campaign name, Active Yes, Campaign Group, Traffic Source, CPC (Cost-Per- Click) to my ads and I’m also using the custom “ad” token so I can track which banners are performing the best on Traffic Junky for my campaign.

Now, I’m going to scroll down and enter my offer names, urls, payouts.

Luckily, this a simple direct-linked offers from the banners and I’m not split-testing any other offers against it. (Because I know it converts).

Correct Setup From Revived Media + iMobiTrax

You come to a point, where there is a little back and forth between your Revived Media Panel and iMobiTrax Campaign Setup. I want to make that as smooth as possible here.

Revived Media – So, the first thing is to scroll through your offer, until you get down to the Generate Tracking URL Box. This is what you see:

Revived Media – Click on “Add Affiliate Subid” type “xx” into the box. Click Update, and look at your new link in the tracking link box now:

Now, take that link, but after &aff_sub=, chop the xx. Don’t use it in iMobiTrax. Chop the xx off, so the affiliate link looks like this, then input this as your offer url in the boxes provided:

http://go.leadforce.net/aff_c?offer_id=1696&aff_id=1294&aff_sub=

That’s where your affiliate subid number is dynamically inserted for that campaign. Right after your subid comes the custom tokens you set in iMobiTrax for easy analysis and shuffling around.

Now, when I got to pull the 2nd lp from Revived Media and construct my link. I added xx to subid and clicked update, but now my link looks funky Ruck?

Really, this is simple too.

See the &aff_sub=xx

Copy that from the url, and stick it on the end. Basically, swap out &url_id=2086 with &aff_sub=xx. Also, make sure you cutoff the “xx” directly before sliding into iMobiTrax.

Just make sure it looks and displays correctly before implementing into iMobiTrax. The current iMobiTrax form for your affiliate url above would be:

http://go.leadforce.net/aff_c?offer_id=1438&aff_id=1294&url_id=2086&aff_sub=

Seriously, iMobiTrax campaign is setup. Scroll down until you see your campaign link. Make sure to always test it! Also, grab your postback URL from iMobiTrax and place it correctly in the offer at iMobiTrax that you are running:

See the &ad=1?

That’s your first campaign link to your first banner in Traffic Junky.

Then your second banner, copy n paste same url but change out the =1 to =2 so it looks like &ad=2 for banner 2. Proceed to do that for each individual banner and you will be able to report back which ones are performing good / poor for you. Simple!

Your postback in iMobiTrax looks like this on the end of ?subid=NETWORK_TOKEN

Grab the entire post back url from IMobiTrax. Paste into the Postback URL box of Revived Media:

Make this in iMobitrax that you pasted into Revived Media:

From this –> http://www.trackapp.net/t/track.php?subid=NETWORK_TOKEN

To This –> http://www.trackapp.net/t/track.php?subid={aff_sub}

Click Save. You’re done with Revived Media + iMobiTrax. Now, it’s time to setup that campaign on Traffic Junky!

Ryan, Bill and myself have that entire campaign process down in under 2 minutes flat. Once you have access to traffic sources, and you have your traffic sources, their extra token information, their ad unit types and sizes and ad options they offer, you can literally walk in with iMobiTrax and level the place to the ground, that’s why we built it.

Well, to be straight up, Traffic Junky has crap for mobile targeting options, I went very generic with my targeting. That’s the power of iMobiTrax. Doesn’t matter what I speculate or walk into, it’s there to record and display everything down to the most granular of variables. Ok, back to Traffic Junky setup:

TJ First Step – Pricing & Campaign Inventory

You can see I chose, Greece + Mobile + Straight Inventory:

Great, I see some Mobile 300×250 placements I can test. So I choose to buy this placement below:

300×250 Mobile Footer Banner at $0.08 per 1,000 impressions ( 8cent CPM).

Great, I’ve got two banners for this campaign at sizes 300×250. Let’s do this!

In Traffic Junky, after you choose a site to buy ads on, you have to pick a zone. Pay attention closely here as I’ve been messing around and bought the wrong size placement, more than once, acting like a jackass. Here’s the one ad unit I wanted:

Mobile Pornhub Network Footer

Then I enter my campaign information into Traffic Junky:

Set my budgets, shieettt mobile greece is expensive. At least on paper it looks that way. Won’t know till we test!

Now, we’re going to input our creatives. There is a little bit of back n forth here with iMobiTrax. So pay attention:

I took our campaign link –> http://www.trackapp.net/t/click.php?c=33&key=00cj56ywak21o487dll650e1&ad=1

I took our two banners -

Campaign Link 1 = Banner 1 + 2d=1

Campaign Link 2 = Banner 2 + ad=2

Upload the two banners + hotlink them to each imobitrax campaign link ad=1 and ad=2 accordingly and happy testing!

Hooray! iMobiTraxxers,

We have our first tutorial on adult traffic ad network – Exoclick. If you’re not familiar with them, then Google them. But if you want the magic cards to the deck, the bulk of what’s talked about regarding Exoclick is behind closed doors at the IMGrind Private Forums.

However, I’m feeling rather generous tonight, so here’s a tutorial on how to quickly setup campaigns Exoclick.

This is a mobile only campaign.

What you need:

Hosting

iMobiTrax Tracking

Revived Media Affiliate Account

Offer

Creatives

Description & Restrictions for targeting

Step 1. Offer Recon + Assets Round-up

Revived Media – In your affiliate panel, you want to test offer id: 1438. You will see the description of the offer like below:

ID: 1438 Name: Playaga – Germany – 2 Landing Pages

Conversion flow: Content billing flow: The user enters the landing page and selects their content. A message is prompted. Once they select then message and then confirm by clicking again (2 click flow) the conversion pixel fires.

Target handsets: All

Accepted carriers: Vodafone, T Mobile, Eplus, and O2.

Restrictions: No Wifi. Usage of the word “FREE” or words with the same or similar meaning are not allowed. Additionally, creative’s used may not be misleading or deceptive. No i-framing, incent, content locking, or SMS.

Landing Pages: There are 2 of them, and they are NSFW so I’m just choosing the first one here.

Creatives: I see a few 300×250 which are perfect for the mobile 300×250 placements Exoclick has available.

So, my idea here is to test Offer: 1438 Playaga Germany -2 LP’s, 4 banners at 300×250 with each banner spit 25% between each lander.

Easy enough, let’s set that up right away…

Step 2. iMobiTrax Campaign Setup

Ok, I know Exoclick has a couple of their own click tokens. You have to ask a Rep or search deep for them, but they are now available to you if you were not aware, in the screenshot below:

So, I got my 3 click tokens setup. Now, when I run custom click token reports in iMobiTrax, it will show me how well/bad a sitename is performing + campaignID + which of my 300×250 banners. Yep, we added in 1 so now we just switch ad=1 to ad=2 with banner two and with banner three ad=3, so on and so forth. Pretty simple to see banner reports ehhh?:-)

Got my details setup into a new iMobiTrax campaign:

As you can see, I already added the extra click tokens and pre-populated them here in our iMobiTrax campaign. I’m also passing only iMobiTrax subid to offer.

Perfect, I scroll down in iMobiTrax and name my offer urls + input each affiliate link, properly constructed, into each offer url field in iMobiTrax. I’m splitting both of these landing pages at 50% each. Both payout $16.00 CPA.

Chop the xx off, so the affiliate link looks like this, then input this as your offer url in the boxes provided:

http://go.leadforce.net/aff_c?offer_id=1438&aff_id=1294&aff_sub=

Your postback in iMobiTrax looks like this on the end of ?subid=NETWORK_TOKEN

Grab the entire post back url from IMobiTrax. Paste into the Postback URL box of Revived Media:

Make this in iMobitrax that you pasted into Revived Media:

From this –> http://www.trackapp.net/t/track.php?subid=NETWORK_TOKEN

To This –> http://www.trackapp.net/t/track.php?subid={aff_sub}

Click Save. You’re done with Revived Media + iMobiTrax. Now, it’s time to setup that campaign on Exoclick!

Well, to be straight up, Exoclick has shit for mobile targeting options, I went very generic with my targeting. That’s the power of iMobiTrax. Doesn’t matter what I speculate or walk into, it’s there to record and display everything down to the most granular of variables. Ok, back to Exoclick setup:

Traffic Types – Mobile: All Mobile Devices

Mobile Carriers – All Mobile Carriers

Category – Adult: All

Ad Format – Banner 300×250

Countries – Germany

Yea, $0.14 WTF for Mobile German traffic….Hmm, we’ll see about this.

Sites: Targeting: Premium Placements.

Here’s a few in a screenshot I chose. I was shooting for the 300×250 mobile ad unit that slips so neatly in flow with the adult tube sites out there.

My Marketing Material:

NSWF!! – Might as well be transparent as possible here. Here are the 4 most professional looking banners I want to start testing.

Note: Each of these 4 banners is hot-linked to each landing page.

Remember: 2 landing pages, 4 banners

There you go. That baby is all setup and ready to run.

Once you spend $50.00 you’ll get data back on which banners performed best for each offer lp. You’ll also know which LP converted better.

As a mobile tracking company, I’m fascinated by the many, often times, rich-media banner ad units we have to choose from in mobile advertising. It also seems like a new one is introduced to the market on a monthly basis from innovated mobile ad agencies and networks around the world.

This hot-new company called Zooz is announcing a new product today: in-ad payments. Yes, that’s right, “ad” not “app.” The big idea here is to streamline the checkout process for consumers by addressing some of the challenges with e-commerce on mobile’s small screen, and now connecting that process to mobile banner ads to increase click-to-buy conversions.

With in-ad payments, mobile users will be able checkout by tapping once on a visible banner ad within a mobile app, which then launches ZooZ’s checkout flow. As with ZooZ’s previously launched in-app payments product, the fully native checkout experience here doesn’t require the end user to re-enter their credit card or payment details after their initial sign-up.

According To Techcrunch:

The first time a user checks out on mobile using ZooZ, they will have to provide their credit card or other payment details (e.g. PayPal, Dwolla, etc.) in a mobile-optimized screen. But afterwards, all subsequent checkouts become one-tap payments. At that point, instead of entering in payment information again, ZooZ simply presents you with an interface where you can flip through your saved credit cards and other payment methods, then tap “pay now” to complete the process.

Today, ZooZ’s in-app payments product has been adopted by 5,500 mobile developers. The company offers a ZooZ SDK for developers, which integrates ZooZ’s checkout into mobile (iOS, Android, or HTML5) apps, and it works with several app building platforms, including Appcelerator Titanium, Phone Gap, and Basic4Android.

ZooZ’s new in-ad payments option is not available publicly today, but can be requested by interested agencies for testing purposes by contacting the company via email or phone.

Here’s an overview on how Zooz works.

Just curious if any of our readers are using them or know anymore information about them? I’m extremely interested and curious.

iMobiTraxxers,

I bring forth a small tasty little case-study that might have a golden nugget or knowledge located within should you dare to read this small, but profitable out-of-gate, direct-linked Affiliate Campaign from Revived Media.

Alright, I got bored one night and watched Ryan put this up:

Traffic Source: Inmobi

Tracker: iMobiTrax

Budget $20.00 – (Easy Direct Link Offer Type Budget)

Actual Spend: $12.75

Revenue Generated: $90.00

Total Profit: $77.25

Not a shabby profit for a $20.00 test

Now, the gift really isn’t the case-study, it’s me giving you the campaign on a silver platter.

Here’s Ryan’s campaign setup inside iMobiTrax, he used a landing page in this campaign:

Ok, ok, I know, I know. You want to see the landing page we used for the offer.

Here was the offer:

Here’s the campaign overview:

Now, you will see here why I’m a big fan of testing out carrier-specific offers one carrier at a time on mobile ad networks. Verizon kept me from a achieving a 1,187 % ROI in the testing of this easy direct-linked campaign!

Here’s Carrier Data Report:

I could have further increased my ROI, but cutting lots of non-converting Operating Systems. Literally, could have just targeted 5 Operating Systems:

Could have drill down further and known to ramp up ad spend on the profitable Carrier + Device OS + Manufacturer Models.

What’s even cooler is I could then have Day/Week Parted my Campaign to Reveal I’m definitely profitable on fridays and saturdays! Psst….this was a starting test at $20.00 of course I wouldn’t get anymore data than that from Inmobi’s slow as adserver.

And of course, optimizations could have been made in real-time with iMobiTrax. I knew the offer was going to be profitable, so I just throw $20 at it on Inmobi to see what would happen. Obviously, if I could spend $1,000 a day on that offer at that ROI, that would be a pretty healthy campaign.

Hey fellow imobitrax users and soon to be imobitrax users (yes, I’m talking to you, get off the fence). I’ve got a short, small case study for you to have a gander at. I apologize as we’ve been busy building out new features and recently crossed the 1,000+ user mark.

Hey fellow imobitrax users and soon to be imobitrax users (yes, I’m talking to you, get off the fence). I’ve got a short, small case study for you to have a gander at. I apologize as we’ve been busy building out new features and recently crossed the 1,000+ user mark. We’ve had a ton of mobile marketers making bank with our mobile offers at Revived Media utilizing iMobiTrax as their mobile tracker. So…we’ve been literally overwhelmed.

This was a small test campaign we ran on Airpush (push-notification advertising). It started off as a test, ended up profiting pretty much right of the bat. If you caught my last case study, then you already know I’m a big fan of the Android Operating system. Actually, I’m a fan of advertising to its users.

Here’s a quick overview the stats:

Country: Australia

Traffic Source: Airpush

Ad Unit Types: Push Notifications

OS: Android 2.3

Here’s a short overview from the Campaign, Offer and Landing Page views:

My ISP/Carrier Report reveals that Optus was my only profitable Operator for Australia. Which, if you know the country like I do then you already know that Optus is extremely easy to convert compared to Telstra. Matter of fact, I really hate advertising to Telstra in Australia. It never works out. Optus was getting all the clicks anyway on this campaign.

Now, you already know I was just targeting the Android 2.3 Operating System. Of course, no ad network is really all that precise in the traffic that they deliver to you. You’ll see that clearly below from Airpush delivering traffic outside of what I targeted. Sure, it was still profitable but on the sake of an Ad Network delivering on what you target and charging you for it, tsk tsk Airpush.

I then grouped a report in iMobiTrax –> OS -> Manufacturer – Combined Name (Combined Name is the Manufacturer Name + Model Number)

In this first batch of data, you can see a combination of Android 2.3.5 OS, Samsung Manufacturer, and a bundle of devices. Only one of which was profitable:

Now, in this next batch of data, you can see the Operating System was Android 2.2.2 – which wasn’t what I targeted. As an ad network, had I lost money I would have simply told them — You sent me traffic outside of what I targeted, and you charged me for it. Refundo!

But, I was profitable on the OS overall, with 3 devices:

This next batch of data should tell you something EXTREMELY important. What’s that? Popularity of mobile devices make a HUGE difference in the amount of traffic volume you will get.

Overall I was profitable on this small campaign. I didn’t continue you running it. Not enough volume for me to consider. Put this campaign together and threw it up on Airpush in about 15 minutes tops so I guess the $356.82 profit paid for my time.

Google Adwords has a tremendous amount of volume for both desktop and mobile advertisers. With the changes of their “enhanced campaigns” it’s more important now than ever to ensure accurate tracking to see exactly where your traffic is coming from. Using iMobiTrax, advertisers can detect the exact device, carrier, screen size, and other important metrics to lead to more efficient and high ROI campaigns. Setting up a campaign is very simple and can be implemented in a matter of minutes.

To get started Adwords simply needs to be added as a traffic source inside the iMobiTrax platform. Simply navigate to the Traffic Sources tab and then create Adwords where it uses tokens:

We’ll then add in Google’s additional tokens as they let us track important metrics such as keyword/placement, match type, creative, if it’s mobile traffic, and if it’s coming from search:

After setting up Adwords as a traffic source we’re ready to begin creating campaigns. For this example I’m going to setup a direct link campaign for the content network. I’m going to fill out all the basic campaign information and assign a unique campaign group, traffic source, starting CPC, and finally a filter URL:

Notice how we insert the filter URL as the domain our tracking link redirects too. The reason for this is because the Google bot will crawl your links and inflate your clicks massively. By inserting this URL we bypass running all these clicks through the tracking link (since it’s not real traffic) but still show them the page you’re running. By default, iMobiTrax has Google bot rules to filter the traffic so it doesn’t count as real traffic.

We then set the tokens to yes and the variables we inserted when we setup the traffic source are pre-populated. There is no need to make any changes here unless you want to append any additional tokens:

The final step is to correctly input the tracking links so our iMobiTrax link can be routed correctly. We’ll simply enter the name, the tracking URL, payout, and split percentage. We want to make SURE we append a SUBID to the end of the tracking link so iMobiTrax will pass all the click data:

For this example I’m not going to conduct a split test. If I wanted to test against another offer I would simply enter the details under Offer 2 and use the green weight button to distribute traffic accordingly. Remember iMobiTrax has the ability to split test an unlimited number of offers direct linked!

We then want to go through the campaign creation process at Adwords. I’m only going to select devices with Android and iOS as the operating system as I only want to reach mobile users:

For this campaign I’m going to leave out BlackBerry as I know historically those devices don’t convert that well for this campaign. Finally, I’m going to select device models and eliminate some of the tablets. I’m also going to include Wifi traffic since this converts on successful lead generated:

After the campaign is completely setup I’ll upload my creatives. For my destination URL I will be using the tracking link provided by iMobiTrax:

Notice how all of the additional tracking tokens are placed as parameters. As soon as I upload all of my banners and text ads I’ll be ready for traffic distribution. One thing I want to pay close attention to inside iMobiTrax is the Filters tab. As I noted during campaign setup we’re going to be filtering the Google bot clicks, so while they’ll still pass through our link, they won’t be counted as “real people.” By watching the filter reporting we’ll be able to see if any adjustments need to be made (ie: adding in additional IP ranges or user agent information).

As soon as Google approves the campaigns we’ll be able to monitor our results in real time! Using the additional tokens we’ll also have important campaign information that will allow us to quickly make optimization decisions and scale based on ROI. Happy tracking!

Holy moly, there may still be hope for better Facebook Ads mobile targeting options yet!

In a heap of great news today, Facebook has updated the Power Editor and Ads API to give advertisers a new placement option: “feature phones only.”

All News Feed ad types except mobile app install ads and offers can appear on feature phones. Now, “feature phones only” is a clear option in the “creative and placements” section of Power Editor, seen below, as well as in the Ads API. Ads that use this targeting will only be delivered to users when they browse News Feed from a feature phone.

Previously, advertisers could select mobile placement instead of desktop and then designate iOS or Android devices. Feature phones weren’t an option here. To reach those feature phone users, advertisers had to use the broad category targeting option from the audience selector, which wasn’t as intuitive. It also didn’t guarantee that current feature phone users were seeing the ad because the broad category includes users who might have previously owned and accessed Facebook from a feature phone.

In others, it sucked. Terribly. It’s not better!

We’ve had hundreds of iMobiTrax users having great success using our tracking software for their Facebook web and mobile campaigns with some of our top users generating over 1,000,000 clicks daily on Facebook alone! There’s tons of web and mobile traffic to be had over there but with no custom traffic tokens, you really have to have a superb tracking platform to milk that ROI over there on your campaigns. Have you checked out iMobiTrax? We’ve been advertising on Facebook for 3 years now with millions of dollars in spend. We’ve built it from the ground up to track our Facebook web and mobile campaigns and we’ve had a ton of users migrate over from Prosper202 and CPVLab to track their Facebook campaigns.

Affiliate marketers around the globe rely on pay per view traffic sources for large volumes of distribution. We developed iMobiTrax to efficiently handle the load and track conversions in real time allowing ROI to be considered every step of the way. One of the most popular pay per view networks is Trafficvance and with a couple of simple steps you can have your campaign up and running in no time.

To begin we simply want to add Trafficvance to our traffic source group. This is the same way as we would add any other additional source however we’re going to insert a custom token to pass the keyword/URL we’re receiving traffic from to help us with optimization:

%KEYWORD% will dynamically be replaced in our tracking link to reflect the source we’re bidding and receiving traffic on. In real time, we’ll be able to measure our ROI and determine which source is going to perform the best for our campaign(s).

We then want to create our campaign so we can begin our implementation. For this tutorial I’m going to be using a simple landing page as historically pay per view traffic converts better with more pre-selling:

To get started I simply name my campaign, define a group, set the traffic source, and enter a value for my initial CPC. Since Trafficvance charges each time my landing page is viewed I’m going to enter the amount I’m going to start bidding from the beginning. For this example, I’m going to assume that I’m starting my campaign at $0.05 per view:

Next we want to Use Tokens from the Traffic Source and this will be pre-populated with the value we entered in the first step above. Since we already configured this, we can just double check for accuracy, there is no need to make changes unless we want to add any additional tracking tokens:

We’re then ready to configure our landing page and offer. Since we’re going to be using our own custom landing page we want to select this as our campaign type:

The offer is then setup. We enter the name of the offer along with the URL, payout, and split percentage. In this example we’re not going to be split testing the offer so the weight will simply be 100%. At the end of the URL we make sure to append a SUBID variable so iMobiTrax can add a unique number for each individual click allowing us to track the conversion flow:

As you can notice we’re free to add as many offers as we would like to here. This comes especially handy when trying to split test through various dating offers to find the one that responds the best to your traffic.

For this example, we’re ready to enter the information about our landing page so we can get the tracking codes and get started:

Notice the different options:

% to Landing Pages - If we would like to split test direct linking vs. using a landing page then we could define this here. For this example, we only want traffic to pass through the landing page, we’re going to leave it at 100%.

LP 1 Name – This is where we enter the unique name for our landing page. If we want to split test another one, we would fill in the value under LP 2 Name, etc.

Split % – If split testing our landing pages we would enter the percentage of traffic we want to hit this particular page. We can simply click the green weight button to equally distribute traffic across all the landing pages.

LP 1 URL – The complete URL to the landing page. Keep in mind this must end in .php so the tracking codes will render correctly.

Once we finish entering all the information about our landing pages we’re ready to create the campaign and get our tracking codes.

First we want to insert our main tracking code. This is found directly under Tracking Options:

Using our favorite HTML editor (I use Dreamweaver) we’re going to insert this directly above the opening HTML tag:

We then have to make sure our tracking links are correctly inserted:

Take note of the PHP code in both of the above codes. This is the reason your landing page must end in the .php extension. If we were rotating through multiple offers the above link would automatically rotate through them based on the percentages we set above.

Finally, we’re ready to set our post back URL and we’ll be ready for traffic distribution:

Notice we end our postback URL with the variable that carries the unique SUBID from iMobiTrax. For our example it is {aff_sub} but this will vary depending on the tracking system used for the offer you’re promoting.

We’re then ready for traffic distribution using our tracking link:

This is going to route all traffic to the landing page we setup, track the exact URL/placement name we’re targeting, and we’ll be able to monitor our click through and conversion rate in real time. iMobiTrax has been optimized to ensure all of your pay per view traffic makes it to your landing page and can be optimized on the fly. Our easy-to-use reporting system allows you to create many custom reports and analyze all the metrics of your campaign. Happy tracking!

With iMobiTrax we make setting up direct link campaigns fast and easy so you can focus on what’s important: traffic distribution. We’ve coded our platform to be optimized for both your mobile and desktop campaigns. To get started you simply need the offer you’re going to promote, iMobiTrax installed and functional, and a Facebook advertising account. For this tutorial I’m going to demonstrate how to setup a dating campaign, direct linked.

To begin we first want to define the source inside iMobiTrax. We do this by navigating to the Traffic Sources tab at the top and then filling out the form under Add Traffic Source:

Unfortunately Facebook does not offer dynamic tracking tokens, so we’ll need to pass information about our creatives manually. We’ve made that simple to do with iMobiTrax. Once we add the traffic source we’re ready to create our campaign.

Just as we’re setting up any other campaign we navigate to the Add Campaign tab at the top and start to fill out information about our campaign:

Notice we enter the name of the campaign we’re going to promote, leave it to active (which is default), I left the group unassigned, defined the traffic source as Facebook, and I set an estimated CPC (we can go back and edit that later).

Next, we’re going to add a custom token that will allow us to manually define each creative so we know where the conversions are coming from:

Directly under Token & Subid Setup I select YES to Use Tokens. I then set the option Custom Tokens since Facebook doesn’t provide us with any default tokens. I then set my Field Name – creative. This is what’s going to appear in our tracking link. For the Value I entered 1. It’s very important to remember that this number is going to have to be manually edited in our tracking link for each ad we setup on Facebook. Finally we name the custom token Creative. This is what is going to be shown in our reports.

After those items are setup you can leave the Subid option to default. This very rarely need to be changed when direct linking. We can then proceed to the campaign link setup:

You’ll notice that we enter the name of the offer we’re running, the payout, and the link. Please look at how we ended the link with &aff_sub= . This is going to differ depending on the tracking platform the offer you’re promoting uses however you will always need to be able to append a subID here. iMobiTrax is going to automatically be appending a unique number to the end of this link, so if it’s not setup correctly the campaign will not resolve.

Finally we define the Affiliate Network as well as the split %. If you want to split test more than one offer you can enter it below. If you want to split test more than two offers you can click the Add Offer button to create more fields. For this example, we’re just going to be using one offer. We then click Create Campaign and the tracking link is created:

Please pay careful attention to &creative=1. This is the custom token we setup and we’re manually going to be editing it on each ad we setup inside of Facebook. We’re now ready to take this link over to the Facebook platform and create our ad:

We’ve now inserted our link in the Facebook platform. Since this is my first ad I’m going to leave creative=1. My next ad will be 2, the next 3, etc. This way I can quickly identify the creatives are are performing the best. Just keep in mind we have to manually edit this since Facebook does not pass dynamic tokens.

After setting up the link we can then proceed to create our first ad:

We then add some targeting so we can go back and edit our suggested bid inside iMobiTrax:

Inside iMobiTrax I set the starting bid at $0.60 and that looks to be a fairly accurate place to start. We’ll let the campaign run and see the volume. The good thing about iMobiTrax is we can edit our bid depending on our results and then go back into the system and retroactively change the CPC per day or even for an unique subID.

Finally, we rinse and repeat the ad creation process. I personally like to create at least ten ads per campaign where I will be editing the custom token to identify each one. I’ll then get started running and be able to evaluate my results in real time.

Using iMobiTrax to direct link campaigns on Facebook you’re able to quickly make important optimization decisions and closely monitor the creatives that are performing and pause the ones that aren’t. We make it easy to discover the winning aspects of the campaign and the quick path to solid profits. Happy tracking!

I’ve been busy in the war-room gathering some feedback from over 1,000 of our iMobiTrax Web & Mobile Tracking Users. Now, I didn’t add these up to see which ones ranked where. I’m too busy for that, so I will just list the responses.

Here are 10 reasons why affiliate marketers are jumping ship from other tracking platforms such as Prosper202 and CPVLab.

1. Support – We live and die by support. Every user has access to our support ticket system in which I require our team a maximum of 60 minutes response time. Yes, every support ticket is responded to within 60 minutes. It doesn’t matter if we get a support question at 3 am. Bill, Ryan or myself is crawling out of bed to handle it. Our users also have access to all of our Skype handles for immediate questions as well as our office and cell phone numbers. Support to our users comes before anything else. Period.

2. Updated PHP – PHP has gone through changes over the last 24 months. We stay up to date and even ahead of everyone else in our programming. Bill is aces with PHP and we are always testing the boundaries of what could be possible and programming it in. Other trackers such as Prosper202 haven’t been updated in forever and as a self-hosted free tracking platform, you get what you pay for. Don’t get me wrong, Prosper202 is ok for starting affiliates. We used it for years. But, we know that anyone doing SERIOUS volume on their campaigns is moving away. When I say serious, I say upwards past 5,000,000 clicks a month. We’ve had a ton of users migrate over from Prosper202 because it simply couldn’t handle just 1,000,000 clicks a month.

3. New Features – It goes without saying. iMobiTrax is currently on Version 3.0 and we’ve introduced over a dozen new features since we launched it. Bill works on feature requests on a daily basis. While we may not add them all, I can tell you we average about a 75% success rate in user suggested feature addons. We listen to our users and as marketers ourselves, we’re constantly trying out new marketing and advertising methods with iMobiTrax and adding the necessary features in.

4. Industry Reputation – Not too sound like a boaster here but let’s face it. We’ve got quite an Industry known and social reach in owning IMGrind, Revived Media and iMobiTrax. You can find us almost everywhere you look. We travel over 25 times a year to various trade shows and conferences and we’re very active in the IMGrind Private Forums. I don’t know of any other tracking platforms that even put an ounce of energy compared to us when it comes to being available.

5. Proprietary Handset Detection – Don’t get me wrong here when I say this. WURFL (Scientia Mobile) and other 3rd party device detection databases (such as Adtruth) are fine for starting mobile tracking platforms. To be straight up though, it’s child’s play. Any mobile device specialist knows that their is a ton of power in owning and building your own device detection database. For starters, tons of companies use Scientia Mobile and Adtruth (Prosper 202, Mobaff etc…). With so many companies plugging into the same old databases, you get DNS lookup speeds slower than a proprietary, weekly up-to-date and optimized database. We update our database every weekend and have a ton of Mobile Manufacturers sending us their prototype devices before they are even introduced globally to the market.

6. Tutorials – One of the things Ryan and I work on heavily is providing weekly tutorials on how to use iMobiTrax. From web to mobile traffic, it’s our all-in-one tracking dashboard for every single campaign of ours along with 1,000+ clients. We have over two dozen tutorials and counting, along with an entire video series with more coming each week.

7. 100% Self-Hosted – Outside of the Agency Enterprise version that we will be introducing soon, most affiliates feel better knowing that their tracking platform is hosted on their own server and their data is only access to them. With all the stealing going on in Performance Marketing, who can blame them? Since iMobiTrax executes flawlessy in the latest versions of PHP on your own server, you get to control your traffic volumes you can handle by upgrading/down-grading your necessary Server resources as you see fit.

8. Web & Mobile Tracking Capability – As I’ve said before, iMobitrax handles ALL of our tracking needs on both the desktop and mobile. You can track any traffic source. You can also use custom click/traffic tokens or not. iMobiTrax automatically tracks these options whether you use tokens or not:

Click Data – Subids, Timestamps, Date/Time, IP Address, Referrer, User Agent

Campaign Data – Campaign ID, Campaign Name, CPC, Offer Name, Conversion, Payout

Opt-In Data – Single and/or Double Optins, Phone Numbers, Email Addresses

Device Data – Manufacturer, Device Name, Device Model, Marketing Name, Device Type, Operating System, Display Size, Resolution, Data Speed

Carrier Data – Carrier, ISP, Country Code, Country Name

Custom Token Data – Such as Creatives, Ads, Banners, States, etc…

9. Simple Subid Updating – One of the sweetest features is the ability to update your subids very easily inside iMobiTrax. You can also update your Cost Per Clicks on the fly. It’s literally an all-in-one, real-time tracking and optimization platform.

10. The Future – Everyday, I can asked, (sometimes begged) what we are going to introduce next. While, I don’t like giving out the details before they are live, I can tell you that the sky is the limit with iMobiTrax. With over 1,000 clients using iMobiTrax, we have a steady stream of feature requests which are going to help us build the most robust, but simple to use tracking platform in the world. Yes, the world. I will however end this with a new feature hint coming soon…Auto optimization.

The iMobiTrax Team is ecstatic today! From Bill, Ryan, Preston and myself, we would like to thank all of our users using the iMobiTrax tracking platform.

How did we jump from 800 to 1,000 users so quick?

It’s simple, Ryan has been creating tutorials on how to use iMobiTrax for all of your web campaigns. We’ve been getting a ton of exposure in the Press, at Adtech and from other high-caliber clients who’ve been recommending us. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

From what we’ve seen over the last month, we’ve seen Prosper202 and CPVLab users jumping ship and coming over to us. I attribute this to the Capt (Bill) staying up to date with all the php upgrades, new features and benefits, updated handset detection databases and faster redirects from DNS Lookup and GEO IP location.

So, as a gesture of continued growth, we are offering all new users who have not used iMobiTrax yet, to give us a shot for 1 month at 50% off the normal monthly fee.

You can look over the homepage and see a redesign underway which highlights the features, benefits and support we provide here at iMobiTrax. We are not some 3rd party programmers who don’t know how to support a software product. We are now powering the pre-click, post-click and redirect tracking for over 20+ major mobile networks. We’ve had a ton of representatives from many mobile agencies come onboard with us to track their own personal campaigns.

From the Team here at iMobiTrax, we appreciate all the support and we will continue to charge forward with new features and enhancements!

On the pricing page, just input this discount code for your 50% savings off your first month: 90048D8D

If you have any questions, hit me up on live chat. But be patient today as I know we will have new users coming in regularly.

This discount ends on midnight April 21st, 2013.

Do you feel that? I know, I do. That’s the feeling of the mobile ad network dominated landscape in mobile advertising starting to turn with the tide.

That’s right ladies and gentleman, mobile ad networks are not so superior anymore, and they are decreasing in authority everyday. Why though?

It’s simple really. Large Content sites are starting to win battles in mobile display ads served. Need examples? How about Mobile Content Sites and Apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Pandora.

As sales start to growth, more and more content publishers will stop relying on the Ad Networks who have basically held us in tyranny for the last half decade.

I recently returned from the Adtech San Francisco trade show and had some pretty intense conversations with mobile ad networks. The fact is that mobile ad networks are starting to lose market share to publishers. Mobile publishers being mobile website and app owners.

IDC recently launched a press release discussing this more in detail. Some of the additional information in the report included:

Strong growth in mobile advertising spending in the United States continues, even if annual growth rates continue to decline: the market grew by 88% in 2012 (down from 125% in 2011) to a total of $4.5 billion (up from $2.4 billion in 2011). Mobile market share within all digital advertising reached 11% in 2012, up from 7% in 2011. For 2013, IDC expects a growth rate of 55–65%, with spending coming in around $7 billion, for the United States.

Mobile display advertising has increased its market share of total mobile spending by no less than 8 percentage points to 39%, versus 61% for search ads, in 2012. Mobile display ads attracted $1.7 billion in 2012 compared with $0.7 billion in 2011. Growth rates have picked up again in 2012 after a dip in 2011. They were at 134% in 2010, 118% in 2011, and 132% in 2012.

Among mobile publishers selling display advertising, Facebook was the number 1 company in 2012 ($234 million gross revenue), followed by Pandora ($229 million) with Twitter coming in third ($117 million). In the ad network segment, not much has changed. Google still holds the top spot ($243 million). One change is that Millennial Media ($151 million) has taken over Apple ($125 million) to claim the number 2 spot. Jumptap remains number 4 ($90 million).

Just as fast as they popped up, they will diminish. Of course, only the strong will survive.

My advice is that you better be tracking your campaigns with an versatile tracking platform that is keeping up with these changes and programming effectively to handle the changes.
